Study of 4ΣHe production via 4He(K-,π-)X reaction at pK- = 1.5 GeV/c

概要

核子の仲間であるストレンジネスクォークを含むハイペロンに関する相互作用の研究は未だ発展途上である。特に、Σハイペロン核子間相互作用は、Σ核子散乱実験が困難であり、Σハイパー核も4ΣHeの基底状態の1種しか観測されていないため、理解が進んでいない。理論解析によりさらに4ΣHeの励起状態の存在が示唆された。

本研究では、励起状態が生成可能なビーム運動量pK- = 1.5 GeV/cの4He(K-,π-)X反応のmissing- massスペクトルを測定することにより4ΣHeの励起状態の探索を行った。測定データの解析を行 い、4ΣHeの励起状態の存在を初めて観測することに成功した。また、観測した励起状態の束縛エネルギー及び生成断面積からΣ核子相互作用が制限される。以上の点から本研究はΣ核子相互作用の理解に大きく貢献するものである。
