エンツァイ(Ipomoea aquatica)の根および根滲出物に含まれる植物生長阻害物質

概要

エンツァイの根から2種類の植物生長阻害物質を単離し,これらの物質がクマリン類であるウンベリフェロン(7-ヒドロキシ-2H-1-ベンゾピラン-2-オン)とスコポレチン(7-ヒドロキシ-6-メトキシ-2H-1-ベンゾピラン-2-オン)であることを明らかにした。ゴマとレタスを用いた生物検定において,ウンベリフェロンはスコポレチンよりも強い生長阻害活性を示した。これらの植物生長阻害物質がエンツァイの根から放出されていることを,エンツァイ水耕液から得た根滲出物を分析することにより実証した。
Two plant growth inhibitors were isolated from the roots of water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica) and identified as umbelliferone (7-hydroxy-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one) and scopoletin (7-hydroxy-6-methoxy-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one). Bioassay with sesame and lettuce seedlings exhibited that umbelliferone had more potent inhibitory activity than scopoletin. Analysis of the root exudates from water spinach demonstrated that these plant growth inhibitors were released in hydroponic culture medium from the roots.
